Hacktivism 104: Soldering and Circuit Hacking

I co-facilitated this Free Skool workshop that taught people how to solder and assemble circuits.

Never built an electronic circuit before?  Tired of working on your projects in the basement by your lonesome?  Come hang out!  Learn the basic skills necessary for soldering, get help on a project, or help someone else with theirs.  Have something that’s broken?  Let’s be silly and try and fix it.

My co-teacher, provided TV-B-Gone kits that students could assemble.  With it, you can turn off almost any TV up to 50 yards away.

We taught this workshop in 2011 and in 2012.  At each workshop, a half dozen people joined us to learn how to assemble basic circuitry, including a few children.
