Hacktivism 101: Using Linux

Introductory class on the basics of using the Linux operating system from the command line.  Learn what makes Linux the workhorse of the IT world for the last thirty years.  Understand basic design philosophy, how to get around, basic commands, manipulating files, and getting information.

Come learn about the Linux operating system from the co-author of the book ‘Using Unix’. An interest in using Linux is encouraged, and although prior knowledge of the linux operating system will serve you well, it is not necessary.  Feel free to bring a computer or a flash drive if you would like to take home a copy of CentOS.

I taught this introductory class twice through Free Skool in 2010 and 2012.  At each workshop, a dozen people came and got hands on experience with Linux.
