I served as a web developer and project manager at Silicon Graphics from 1997 to 1998.
I was a web developer for a large sales support intranet, Silicon Sales. I served as project manager on several projects, provided design direction, set goals and milestones, maintained deadlines, and anticipated problems and growth. I defined, implemented, and documented standards.
As needed, I created new tools and procedures to aid in web-based projects. Tools were developed in Perl on Irix, SGI’s Unix variant.
This was at a time when SGI was very active in the computing community, developing independent industry graphics standards such as OpenGL and supporting open source software efforts such as Linux, Samba, and XFS.
